Maya Bay - Thailand
Maya Bay is a shallow bay surrounded by a ring of steep limestone hills
on Koh Phi Phi Leh, the second largest island of the Phi Phi Islands.
The bay has superb marine life and is a favorite spot for divers. Maya
Bay became world famous after the 2000 movie The Beach was filmed there
and today many tourists come to Koh Phi Phi just to see this beach. Ko Phi Phi Lee is the second largest island of the archipelago, the largest one being Ko Phi Phi Don. The island consists of a ring of steep limestone hills surrounding two shallow bays, Maya Bay and Loh Samah. Maya Bay cannot be accessed directly from the sea via boat, due to shallow waters and coral. Therefore, boats must anchor at the deeper Loh Samah, requiring people to walk through a short section of rocks and jungle to reach Maya Bay itself. There is also one large shallow fjord like inlet called Pi Ley with a small coral reef at the entrance.

Barcelona contains both the authentically historic and the wildly bizarre. From the tree-linedLas Ramblas to the narrow alleys of Barri Gòtic; from the beachside nightclubs to the city's dozens of sacred churches and cathedrals, this city by the sea seems to attract all types: the family, the adventurer, the couple, the backpacker, the culture lover — and more — with an almost overwhelming variety of things to do. You could stay for a few days, but chances are you'll need a whole week to explore.
In Barcelona, even the beach is bustling, but it's really the cosmopolitan city that gets all the attention. Much of the activity revolves around Las Ramblas, a series of narrow streets and alleys packed with restaurants, nightclubs and a vibrant pedestrian market. But you should also take a tour of Antoni Gaudí's masterpieces; Gaudí is responsible for sites like Parc Güell, Casa Batlló and La Sagrada Familia. And it would also be absurd to miss out on the eclectic shopping scene and the region's exquisite food and wine.
Barcelona has some of the most unique and inspiring architecture in the world, so a tour of the city's parks, museums and churches is a must. You won't want to miss out on seeing Gaudí's Casa Batlló, La Sagrada Familiaand Parc Güell. Later, relax on the waterfront with a cool cerveza (beer) or glass of cava, accompanied by some tapas, all the while enjoying a picturesque view of the Mediterranean. After a brief siesta, we suggest you hit the nightlife in Las Ramblas.
In the early 1900s, the Canadian Pacific Railway decided a route was necessary to link the Kootenay Region with the BC coast by rail. The railway was built over three mountain ranges. In the Coquihalla Gorge – the river cut a 300 foot deep channel of solid granite. A straight line of tunnels were built through it which are known now as the Othello Tunnels. There are spectacular viewing opportunities available on the trail, through the tunnels and on the bridges. This park highlights the Kettle Valley Railway grade that passes through the canyon and 5 tunnels which were built in 1914.
It contains a 135 hectare land base. It is a popular tourist attraction for the town of Hope and provides viewing, walking, fishing and picnicking opportunities. The hiking trail links to the historic Hope-Nicola Cattle Trail. The engineer Andrew McCullough was an avid reader of Shakespearean literature, and used characters such as Lear, Jessica, Portia, Iago, Romeo & Juliet to name stations of the Coquihalla subdivision.

In Japan's Sagano Bamboo Forest, on the outskirts of Kyoto,
towering green stalks of the famously versatile plant sway in the wind,
creaking eerily they collide and twist, leaves rustling. The sun filters through the densely packed grove, projecting thin
slashes of light onto the dozens of camera-clutching tourists shuffling
down the wide trail that cuts through the middle of the forest as they
awkwardly angle their shots, attempting to crop human forms out of their frames. Long gone are the days when you'd get this place to yourself. If you've ever clicked on a rundown of
"places to see before you die" or a compilation of the most beautiful
forests in the world, chances are you've seen a photo of Sagano.
Located
in the gorgeous Arashiyama district of western Kyoto, the Sagano Bamboo
Forest's popularity has expanded in recent years, coinciding with the
growing number of Buzzfeed-esque articles that include it on
superlative-heavy travel lists.
Though
it's the beauty of the bamboo that brings in the masses, those distinct
rustling sounds have become an attraction in their own right.
A
few years ago the Ministry of Environment included the Sagano Bamboo
Forest on its list of "100 Soundscapes of Japan" -- a selection of
everyday noises intended to encourage locals to stop and enjoy nature's
music.
